The Jog-a-thon has been a Douglass springtime tradition since 2005, and an event everyone looks forward to. Each year, the kids take to the field for 20 minutes of running laps to upbeat music and an enthusiastic crowd of supporters! Each grade has their own time slot, and lots of volunteers help make this a special day for our community. Family members are invited to cheer on their runners! Students are asked to get family and friends to sponsor their participation, with funds going to the PTO. The grades have really enjoyed competing against each other for fun prizes like class parties and passes to local businesses. Funds raised over the last 2 events have been used to purchase new equipment and supplies for the PE, Art, and Music Specials teachers, and the librarian, from wish lists they provided. PTO has also set aside some funds for ongoing Teacher and Staff Appreciation.
Be on the lookout in early spring 2026 for volunteer signups and donation info!
