Volunteering

Our parent volunteers at Douglass Elementary are extremely valued and important.  There are numerous opportunities throughout the year to participate in your child’s education by helping in the class room; chaperoning field trips; in the library, computer lab or art room and numerous PTO sponsored events.

If you are interested in volunteering for school and PTO activities, please go to: Help at School to see available volunteer opportunities .
Most in classroom volunteers are coordinated through your student's classroom teacher.

Creating a Help at School Account

The Douglass PTO uses HelpAtSchool.org as our one-stop-shop for parent volunteer opportunities, access to a school directory and information on school events.

Here's how registration works: go to https://bvsd.helpatschools.com/schools/34/session/new/new.  Follow the instruction on the site to confirm your registration- (you must be an enrolled BVSD family to have access)

Once you create an account visit the Sign-Up page to see the volunteer opportunities!

Note: All BVSD Volunteers who are in the school and interacting with students MUST fill out an application and paperwork for background screening.  All the details are found on the BVSD Volunteer Website.

Volunteer Opportunities

Listed below are volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Without your help, time, and providing food, these PTO events and activities would not be possible. If you are interested in helping or have questions about any events or activities listed, please contact president@douglasselementarypto.org
