Jog-a-thon

This year's Jog-a-thon is Friday April 27th, 2018 **POSTPONED to MONDAY APRIL 30**

The Jog-a-thon has been a Douglass tradition since 2005. Each year, the kids take to the field for 20 minutes of running laps to upbeat music and an enthusiastic crowd of supporters!  We’re kicking off our Jog-a-thon fundraising drive and volunteer recruitment for the month of April. Over the 4 weeks we hope to raise $20,000 to help meet our PTO budget and fund our classrooms this year!  Please consider using this link to donate to the Jog-a-thon and to ask for support from your family and friends:

**UDATE ON POSTPONEMENT**

Dear Douglass Families,

Because school is now canceled for Friday, we are moving Jog-a-thon to Monday, April 30. Some things will stay the same, and some things will change. Please help!

We realize that this is a big change of plans for those of you who agreed to volunteer. Because of this, we have CLEARED the Volunteer Sign-Up page and are starting over. If you can still volunteer, please re-sign-up. Maybe this even opens up some volunteer possibilities for those of you who were unavailable on FridayPlease consider signing up to volunteer. Your kids will love to see you there, high-fiving them, and even running/walking/jogging/cartwheeling with them! Remember that it’s no problem to sign up for overlapping class times. No experience necessary. We need lots of help, and FAST! Here’s the NEWLY EMPTY link to help: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080c49aaab2ea0fe3-jogathon2

The Jog-a-thon schedule will remain the same:

1st and 2nd Grade 8:15 - 9:00

KG and Preschool 9:05-9:50

3rd and 4th 9:55 - 10:40

5th 10:45-11:30

We are currently looking into whether or not Chip the Buffalo can still come to visit us for part of the day, but because of conflicting school events, we will not be having a Jog-a-thon assembly in the afternoon. Either way, we’ll still have music, high spirits, and a beautiful community to run with! It’s always a good time!

And now, about the fundraising… This situation is the perfect illustration of why our school needs this fundraiser. Our teachers are spending their time supporting their colleagues, bringing awareness to the severe lack of education funding that exists in our country. Our schools are underfunded, even here in Boulder County. This is why we have fundraisers. We, in Boulder County, are fortunate in that we are able to supplement our children’s school budget. Others are not in such a position. While our teachers are raising their voices to enact change, let’s show them how much we support them by reaching our fundraising goal so that they can have what they need to teach our children!
