We are very excited to present the 2011-2012 Douglass Spirit Wear!

• The deadline for all orders to be turned in to your child’s teacher is October 21^st 2011.
• One form and payment per family is fine.
• Please list the name, teacher and grade of the child that you would like your order to be sent home with.
• We also have the order form available online.  Please click on the above Spirit Wear link for more information.
• Taxes are included in pricing.
• Delivery of purchased items will be the week of November 14^th -18^th.
• Samples are available for viewing in the Douglass Office.

Douglass Parents,

We had an overwhelming response to the PTO's recent capital projects survey!  We want to thank all of you who took the time to complete it and provide comments.  The data we collected was extremely valuable.  The 17 PTO voting members used this information (as one of four criteria) to help determine their votes on the list of capital projects being considered for funding with the School Improvement Fund (SIF).

The PTO vote was held last week, and each project was considered based on its own merits, knowing that all costs are estimates and further due diligence and refinements will occur before commencing work on any project.

Five @ Five 5K in Gunbarrel

Join the Lee family in the race to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Gracie and Connor Lee are 1st and 2nd graders at Douglass.  Their little brother Christopher (age 4) was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy almost two years ago.

Stop by after work for the Five @ Five, a 5K run/walk at 5:30 pm in the Gunbarrel area of Boulder.  The Five @ Five is a fun, family event with a beautiful course around Twin Lakes, a kids' race, silent auction, live music from Souls Squared and complimentary barbecue for 5K participants from KT's BBQ.  Racer goody bag includes a t-shirt, Gaiam Aluminum Water Bottle, Gaiam Organic Cotton Tote and more.

The purpose of these guidelines is to provide information support and direction to Douglass parent volunteers in their volunteer efforts in working with Douglass administrative staff. It is requested that all Committee Chairpersons make available a copy of these guidelines to all their respective committee volunteers as required.

Grade Representatives attend monthly PTO meetings as a way of improving communication between the PTO, staff and families.  Grade Reps will share information and event updates with parents in their child's grade, as well as to bring parent input back to the PTO Board.  Grade Reps may wish to find opportunities to work on PTO committees or events, but this is not a requirement.  The PTO Volunteer Coordinators may ask Grade Reps to assist with volunteer recruitment, as needed.  The commitment for this position is one school year.  Please click on the Grade Level link above for a list of Grade Reps by class.
